Return to Princeton!

This past weekend was a trip down memory lane for Troy and me. We returned to Princeton for Troy's graduation. His sister and mother came with so we did a bit of the tourist thing, showing off the town and our favorite places (like Fedora's for dessert and Small World for coffee!). It was an odd feeling being back...feeling both at home and like a visitor at the same time.

If you notice that Timothy is missing in the above pictures, no worries...he was having a blast with his grandma and grandpa in Minneapolis!

Soothing the soul of the sick

Timothy seems to have a cold. He wasn't feeling well all afternoon. There were many tears and a need for lots of hugs. The one thing that kept him happy (well maybe content is a better word...he doesn't look happy) was his daddy pulling him around the living room in his new bike trailer. They did this for at least a half an hour!

Flowers with Grandma

Today Timothy got to try his hand at planting flowers. Of course our little monkey see, monkey do (see the previous post!) was happy to give it a try. He helped his Grandma plant a few flowers, but liked holding the shovel and swatting at the already planted flowers just as well. he was also happy to dump dirt into the empty flower pots and then dump it on himself or try to climb into the flower bed. And every once in awhile he would give the flowers a good sniff!

(Sadly, you will notice that Timothy is wearing his winter hat in the middle of May...it was slightly chilly today. We're hoping our beautiful new flowers will survive the cold nights.)

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Timothy's latest take on the world is that if mom or dad is doing something, he needs to do it to. If we brush our teeth, he wants a toothbrush. If I am washing dishes, he wants to help scrub. If I have toast for breakfast, he wants toast too.

Although this requires some patience at times, it is fun to see. I can't help but smile as he grins with pride at putting leftovers in the fridge after dinner or giggles excitedly at using his crayons to write just like mommy.

He's a curious little guy that wants to do it all!
