Easter and fun with family

The day before Easter we did some egg dyeing. Timothy liked to make sure there was an egg in every color. He didn't go for my method of dying the eggs multiple colors and taking our time. But it was still fun.
Teresa napped during the egg dying, but I let her see the egg with her name on it. After rolling it on her highchair a bit, it went straight to her mouth like everything else!

Easter morning was a beautiful day. (We were due some nice weather after getting snow a week or so ago!) I was happy Teresa could wear her fancy Easter dress. It was a hand-me-down from friends and I love it. And Timothy so kindly agreed to wear his vest to church. (It came off three minutes after our arrival at home.

We did a little egg hunt after nap time. That way Troy and his mom were able to be there with us. Timothy was quite excited about his treats...especially his suckers. Being the sweet boy he is, however, he wanted to share his suckers with everyone. (Maybe we are doing something right in raising him!??!)

Teresa just woke up from nap and was still pretty sleepy when Timothy and Grandma Judy were helping her with her eggs.

This week we have had some pretty nice weather, so we finally could play outside. Teresa is trying out the swing and big brother tries out his new role as the pusher.

Grandpa Ken and Grandma Rebecca visited for a few days this week. One afternoon we had quite a game of baseball going.

Timothy got an airplane kite from Grandma Rebecca. He had fun running and 'flying' his kite.

April?!

So this is what April 15th looks like in North Dakota! And I just put away the boots and winter coats. (Troy told me the snow was done for the year.) Now we just hope it melts fast without causing more flooding problems. I sure do hope spring comes some day!

Jumping for Jesus

We arrived home from my Bible study this morning and Timothy was jumping in the garage while he waited for me to get Teresa out of the car and open the door. I inquired if he was "jumping for joy" as he often says that when he is jumping. He replied, "I'm jumping for Jesus!" I should note that earlier in the morning I led a preschool circle time in which we talked about what we do when we hear happy news. One thing we do is jump. We all jumped to celebrate the happy news that Jesus is alive! I am happy that Timothy is jumping for Jesus, and that he actually gets something out of the circle time I lead! (Maybe I should be jumping for joy!)

Look alikes?

I continue to wonder about the comment "oh, they look so much alike!" We hear it all the time. Maybe it is true. Maybe other people see things I do not because I see them too often. And maybe as they both grow and change, they will look more (or less) alike. Here is a fun comparison. Timothy and Teresa at roughly the same age (8 and 8 1/2 months) in the same outfit. Do they look alike? Hmmm...

8 Months and a trip to Grandma & Grandpa's

Teresa turned 8 months this past week. She is growing well, eating new foods eagerly, and has finally learned to roll from her back to her tummy. She is pretty stable when sitting up even with a loving brother jostling her around. She likes music and singing and loves to play Row, row, row your boat. Recently she has started to 'dance' when she hears music...dance in the sense of bobbing her head up and down. She still wants to get her hands on everything and continues to enjoy pinching faces and pulling hair when given the opportunity. She has plenty of smiles to share with everyone and especially mommy, daddy and Timothy. Timothy, as usual, had to get in on the photo shoot. This time he wanted to show off his bear too! We recently returned from a trip to the cities to visit my parents. Troy had a conference to attend, so my mom and I took the kids to the Children's Museum on one of the days. Teresa spent most of her time in the stroller, but I did give her a view minutes to explore the 'Habitot' area.
Timothy offers a big grin in the lego exhibit.
Going down the slide in the Earth exhibit.
Fast asleep.
A favorite activity at Grandma's is spinning in her computer chair.
Play time with Grandma Rebecca.
Another favorite activity...stories with Grandma Rebecca. Timothy chose the location on the stairs. Grandma is so nice to grant his requests!
We had a fun few days and are thankful to live within driving distance of our families!
