Weekend adventure!

It was a quick getaway this past weekend.  We went in part for Troy's work, and for a wedding and to see family.  Although it was only about 24 hours we were gone, we packed in a lot of fun.

My mom and I had plans to attend the wedding of a relative.  I was mostly going as a plus one with my mom.  It was an outdoor wedding at a fancy estate and she wanted to experience it, and I was happy to go along.
Before we went, however, we spent the afternoon at an apple orchard.  My mom brought Fiona down with her to see Timothy and Teresa.  The kids had a blast experiencing the fun activities together!  A highlight was definitely the race car driving.  They loved going around and around the course!
Every pumpkin patch or orchard needs to have a picture like this.  I thought Timothy was getting a little too close to the 5 foot mark!
Troy wanted to show off that he is growing tall too!!

A cute picture of me and my mom!  We had good time chatting and recalling our trip to an orchard last year with my dad.  Happy and sad memories all intermingled.
A few more pictures of the day. Driving the tractor.

Pumping water to races rubber duckies.  An intense race as you can see by their expressions!
Troy and the kids with the pretty mums in the background.

The corn maze was also a highlight of the orchard.  They recalled running around last year and the girls running off on their own.  I insisted the all stick together this year and Troy tagged behind to check up on them.

Mom and I had a good time at the wedding.  It was a beautiful night.  My mom got to catch up with old friends from her school days.  The kids and Troy enjoyed time with Aunt Mary, watching baseball and playing at the park.  It was a short trip, but a sweet trip!

Baptism day!

It was Teresa's baptism day.  Her day often falls on a school day, so some of the celebration is limited.  But she did get a special breakfast and the lighting of her baptismal candle in the morning.
We did a special time of blessing for her before dinner too.  And she picked a yummy treat for after dinner.  We did not do any water games or activities, but she did round up a bunch of neighbor kids and we had some good outdoor games happening.  I think it was a good day for her as we celebrated her as a child of God!
