Easter Weekend

We celebrated our first Easter in Iowa this year.  We did some of the same things...like color Easter eggs and enjoy bunny cinnamon rolls.  We are far from Troy's mom now, so we did not have family for our Easter dinner, but instead we were able to visit my Aunt for Good Friday and Saturday.  So in a way we did have some family time for the holiday!

The weather was very nice over the weekend, so the kids had fun playing outside at my Aunt's house and they were very excited to be a part of an egg hunt at her church.  We got lots of jelly beans and chocolates!!

Two happy kids ready to enjoy candy after the big hunt...or scramble as the eggs were not really hidden as Timothy liked to point out.
All smiles with Aunt Mary before heading home from the egg hunt.

This was the first year that we have had our own egg hunt in the morning.  Since Troy had no morning responsibilities at church we were together as a family.  I think I like the afternoon hunt though...then you don't have to deal with candy from 7 am on!!
Timothy and Teresa checking out what they got in their eggs and Easter buckets.
Timothy got a kite for Easter, so he and Troy spent some time outside flying kites after breakfast.  Timothy was able to get it up on his own, although he needs to work on his patience as he learns to fly the kite.
A handsome boy ready for church.  I made him dress up a little for church.  I required a button shirt, which he does not like much and almost never wears.  But he looked great and did not fuss!
Teresa also agreed to wear a dress for Easter Sunday.  The girls would look beautiful and the boys handsome!  Her dress was all wet with bubbles, but at least you couldn't tell!
In the afternoon we went to the playground and took a family walk/bike ride.  The day was beautiful with temps near 80!  We had a nice family dinner in the evening and were happy to celebrate the risen Lord together!

Hockey Game Fun

We took the kids to the one and only afternoon Saints hockey game a week or so ago.  Troy and I did not know if we would make it through the whole game, but the kids did pretty good.  We only hit a near melt down with about 2 minutes left.  Not bad.

The fun began with some time in the jumpy.  Then it was making it through one and a half periods of hockey (sitting in the second row--not bad!) until we got to have pizza and pop.  And to top it off well, why not some sugar sticks!  It was a fun family afternoon.  Oh and the Saints won too.
Ready for the game to start.

Sugar sticks dipped in sugar turning Timothy green!
Happy face for treat time!

Teresa

Teresa surprised me this morning when she asked for a pony tail for her hairstyle.  Everyday it is two braids.  And when I say everyday, I mean pretty much everyday since she could talk and say two braids.  It was a whole new look for her and I thought she looked pretty cute with a change from her classic two braid Teresa look.  It is fitting that in the picture you can see her kitty and she is holding a whale...all very Teresa!

Teresa and her best friend Sophie had a play date today.  In this picture they were working hard at their homework.  They had a blast playing together!  We are thankful to have such a great friend living so close and going to preschool with Teresa!
