Family Visit

We had a fun visit from my brother and his family last weekend.  It was a quick trip, but we packed in lots of kid friendly fun.  They made it in time to see the Halloween parade on Friday night.  We were at the end of the parade, so the candy was a little sparse at first, but by the end they had some in their bags!  There were some fun costumes and floats.
On Saturday the little boys had to wait "forever" for my big kids to wake up.  Teresa was up first and played with the boys outside.  When Timothy got up later, he entertained the boys with video games.  In the afternoon, Troy and Teresa had other things going on, so the rest of us went to Verticle jump.  All three boys had fun jumping, climbing, jousting and trying the obstacle course.  We stopped for a pretzel and smoothie snack in the mall after jumping. Then it was on to the Pokémon card store.  All the boys got to pick out some cards.
Fun continued in the afternoon.  It was a beautiful day, so we played some 5oo in the back yard for a bit.  Then we all trekked over to feed the neighbors dog.  The boys were a little reserved at first, but then took a liking to Molly!  Molly was happy to be the center of all the attention and get lots of petting!
We had dinner out at Freddy's and then we followed that up with games.  We started the night in the basement with some VR games.  Dan, Cal, and Teresa tried those out.  Henrik and I did a little sword fighting.
We ended the night with a few games of Uno.  It was a full and busy day!  We are so thankful Dan and Krista made the long trip down.  It was fun to be together and make lots of memories!

Fall Fun

We finally made a trip up to see Aunt Mary!  This was after two other tries.  The first got called off to work on the deck.  The second trip was cancelled because of illness.  The third time was a charm.  We had a lovely time visiting and having lunch with Aunt Mary.  Of course I forgot to take any pictures!

After our visit, we went to an apple orchard near by.  We had been there two times before.  Admittedly, the kids were getting a little big for the activity area, but we still had fun.
The human size hamster wheels were new and kind of hard to maneuver.  I am glad I am not a hamster!

We also had some fun flipping frogs and racing the ducks.  If you look close at the picture of Troy, you will see his frog flying.  Photo credit to Teresa!  And you can see the focused concentration Teresa and I had for the duck race.

It was a lovely day to be outside.  Warmish, but not hot and lots of bright sunshine.
The kids are growing.  Approaching 5 and 6 feet respectively!
We finished our fall day of fun with a stop at the Sugar Troll candy store.  We think ever shop in Mt. Horeb should be have the word troll in it!!  There was not a huge selection, but the kids did get some gummies.  Timothy was introduced to wax candies--which he thought were gummies.  A little disappointed on that one.  But overall a great fall day with family!

Happy birthday to a wonderful guy! It was one of those work week birthdays that equals a rather busy day.  But he treated himself to some good coffee, & a morning bike ride.  He saw some old friends at a wedding.  Donated blood to help care for others in the community.

At home we had some yummy take out--Greek food, an extremely chocolatey cheesecake and a few gifts.  It was not a big celebration, but I think it was a good celebration to let Troy know how special he is.

Baptism Day

Teresa celebrated her baptism day in early September.  We did not do any water activities, but it was a fun day.  We went down to the parade.  Along with the trucks, there were several kids we knew in the marching bands.  That was fun.  Teresa got a small bagful of candy.

Teresa did request pretzels and parfaits for dinner and the brownie ice cream cake for dessert.  Timothy is absent from all the pictures as he had covid and was isolating that day.  We were happy to celebrate this beloved child of God!
