Happy Easter

Easter weekend was spent with lots of family time and enjoying the outdoors.  Timothy and Teresa had Friday off, so we took time in the morning to dye some eggs.  They had fun, and I probably should have made more hard boiled eggs.  I just need to find some one to help me eat them!!

On Saturday, it was really nice, but very windy.  We spent time playing basketball, pretending, going for walks, playing with neighbors.  It was relaxing and nice to be home and be together.

Sunday morning brought a beautiful Easter day.  Sunshine and 70s!  Timothy and Teresa were up early and by 7:30 or so we were doing the egg hunt.  They were pretty happy with their treats and surprises.  With no Sunday school for the morning, we had plenty of time for more outside play before church.  Troy set up a timer picture so we could at least get a snapshot of us all dressed up--or at least as dressed up as we can get without complaints!

After church we had lunch and spent some time at the playground.  We went on a family walk and even did some water balloons, although discovered it was a bit chilly for that.  We even snuck in some family reading time together--I read to Timothy and Teresa read to Troy.  We had our 'fancy' Easter meal for dinner.  It really was simple, but still yummy.  And Easter ended with an exciting game of kickball in the neighbors backyard.  A glorious day to remember the gift of new life we have been given.

Grandma's visit!

This past weekend we were happy to have Grandma Judy visit us for a few days.  And thankfully she made it here and home without any flight delays. (That might be a first!)

We spent some fun family time together over a few days.  We went walking down by the river, got to go to a petting zoo and out for coffee/juice.  We celebrated Grandma's birthday with a trip to Happy Joe's for ice cream.  After we all ate our cones, Troy told the staff it was Judy's birthday so she got the birthday song sung to her and another free sundae!  I am sure she will remember that fun moment and may eventually forgive Troy.  (They made her stand up and announced her age during the birthday song!!)

Grandma got to go to church with us, but even better, she got to experience an intergenerational event that Troy and I planned.  It was great she was there to be with the kids as Troy and I were very busy during the event.
Troy got to spend a day with his mom too.  The did a little day trip to Galena and took in the shops and a few samples.
The kids had fun spending time with Grandma Judy.  They especially loved when she joined in on a neighborhood kickball game!  We are thankful that we got to spend a little time together each spring!!
