Valentine's Day!

I decided I better blog about Valentine's day as it is fun to look back and see how we celebrated!

Both Timothy and Teresa were excited for their school parties.  They both decorated bags, and shared valentine's with friends, and were excited to check out their surprises when they got home.

Timothy still reminds me of the year I made beet pancakes and how they were no good.  So this year I went with the safer bet of chocolate waffles instead.  They were delicious--no complaints this year!  The kids each got a little gift from us--socks this year and heart straws.  I gave Troy a prayer journal and he got me a very pretty ring,

I felt a little extra spoiled to as Troy and Teresa made lunch for the family and Troy and Timothy picked out flowers for me.  I was happy to see the kids do a great job sharing their candies and toys with one another too.  There was lots of love!

In the afternoon Troy treated Timothy and Teresa to hot chocolate because they finished their book challenges.  I tagged along to the mall and actually exchanged my ring for a slightly smaller one.  And we let the kids play at the mall playground for a bit too.  It was a fun afternoon.

For dinner I made Timothy and Teresa a red and white themed meal and we watched the Lion King 2.  And after the kids were tucked in for the night, Troy cooked up a delicious steak dinner for us!

It was a lovely day of family time.  I loved being together and doing fun things and making memories!

Not many pictures of the day, but here are two from the morning.

The healing powers of ice cream!

The following conversation took place between Teresa and I the other day.

Teresa: I will probably have a sore throat again someday.
Me: I suppose someday you will.
Teresa: Then I will need some ice cream and a little brownie to feel better.

A little background on this conversation.  On Christmas Eve, Teresa's throat started to hurt right around dinner time.  She would not eat anything--not even the bread--so I knew she was not feeling the greatest.  But it was a holiday and I hated to say no treat for her and maybe the coolness of ice cream would help her throat.  So she got some ice cream that night, and she felt well enough to add just a little brownie like the rest of us.  And apparently this event solidified in her brain as ice cream heals sore throats! And I suppose that a little comfort food just might heal us some.  She probably does have it right!!!
