Valentine's Weekend! That's what it was around our house. On Friday there were celebrations at school. Timothy and Teresa were excited as usual. Timothy had Star Wars valentines to hand out and Teresa had puppy/kitty sticker puzzles to give. They both had fun at school and came home to share their bags filled with special things from friends.
Troy and I celebrated Friday night with a late dinner. This year I tried something I have always wanted to make...sushi! Just California rolls, but they turned out delicious. Troy surprised me with some stemless wine glasses with our names and anniversary on them. They are really pretty. I gave Troy a bag a notes to open at different times.
On Saturday the kids played with friends a good share of the afternoon. Troy was in charge of dinner and he went with a tropical theme. It was helping us warm up from the cold air outside. He told us to put on shorts to get into the theme. My response..."No way! I have long underwear on, I am not digging out shorts." Teresa..."what!? Shorts, okay!" Timothy..."YES!" as he runs off to his room. We had some pina colda smoothie, tropical fruits and fish. This dinner inspired a pretend surfing game for the evening.
And then it was Valentine's Day. We had heart french toast for breakfast. The kids got there valentines and gifts. Drawing pad for Timothy and sparkly gemstones for Teresa. I had to post two similar pictures because their smiles were so cut in the top on, but a bit blurry.
We did some sledding outside in the afternoon, and the kids played with Anna. For dinner I did heart pizzas, and other red theme foods with jello hearts of course. It was a great weekend and a good reminder of the great love in our family!

A few pics!
January has come and gone and as usual, not many pictures or stories to report. It has been cold on and off. A little bit of snow has fallen--enough for some good sledding and snowman building. And now we are halfway through February, so I had to at least share a few things!
For the super bowl the kids wanted to have a party. Not the traditional party of people, food, and football. Our party was playing with stuffed animal puppies, sledding, building snowmen, having a dance party and playing with a neighbor. We did have dinner watching the game and I did make football shaped brownies. It was a fun day.
Most of my pictures are of Teresa, so I had to include one that was at least connected to Timothy. He built this magnet house for his Beaver. He was pretty proud of it and did not want to take it down until I offered to take a picture.
Timothy continues to be into Star Wars. He has posters all over his bedroom and he was really happy with the new Star Wars socks I bought him. He had a pair, but lost it coming home from a friends' house. (Not sure why he was carrying his socks and not wearing them!?) So I found some on clearance and I think he has been wearing one pair for the last two days. Perhaps I should suggest we wash them!
Teresa celebrated her 100 days of school yesterday. The kids were invited to dress up like 100 year olds. Teresa loved this. We picked out a dress, a flowery sweater and shiny shoes. She wore her hair in a bun and wore her big purple glasses. I tried to get her to wear a pearl necklace, but she did not want to. She loved her outfit, but did finally ditch the dress after dinner so she could more efficiently crawl around the house as a puppy. It is hard to love dresses and being a puppy at the same time!

We are all looking forward to Valentine's Day. Tomorrow is the celebration at school. Timothy and Teresa have their valentines all ready to go. Timothy is giving Star Wars ones and Teresa has puppy and kitty ones.
To celebrate the coming of Valentine's day I have been putting hearts on their doors each day with a statement of what I love about them. It is neat to see them so excited each morning to find the new heart. We all need a bit of affirmation and love in our lives!
