A miserable week with a wonderful result

It was supposed to be a fun filled week of family visiting and the building of a new swing set.  Instead it turned into a week of the flu.  I was the first one struck down and then Timothy.  I underestimated just how contagious we were.  So I asked my parents to stick to their plans to visit for the week and bring up the new swing set for the kids.

All seemed well at first and it was nice to have extra help as I slowly started to feel better.  Then my dad got sick.  Thankfully that was after the swing set was put together.  Troy and I were able to finish the staining on our own.

Then my mom got sick.  Thankfully she made it through watching the kids well Troy and I finished the staining.  And just to add a little more fun, I had a garage sale planned at the end of the week.  Thankfully my dad was feeling well enough to watch the sale while I fed the kids and put them to nap.

Despite feeling miserable away from home, my parents both played a huge part in making this great backyard swing set for our kids.  Both kids love it and I know we will spend countless hours enjoying it in the years ahead.  I owe a huge thank you to my parents for enduring all that this past week held.  Now that we are all pretty much healthy, we look forward to lots of fun!

I also took a few Father's Day pictures yesterday.  We had a nice family bike ride in the afternoon, and some of Troy's favorite foods for dinner.  We honored him with homemade bookmarks from the kids and spending time together.  Below the kids are enjoying some games that only daddy plays!

2 peas in a pod...

I had to snap a picture of Timothy and Teresa sitting on their riding toys wearing their Twins hats.  They are two peas in a pod!  One wants to be like the other...and the other wants to be like the one.  (It goes both ways depending on the day and hour.)  It is usually sweet how they like to be together and do the same things.  Occasionally it is frustrating.  But oh I do love me two peas!!

And I had to add a comparison picture.  I love those.  Teresa and the little wagon at almost 2 years.  Below that is Timothy and the wagon at about 18 months.
