We celebrated Teresa's second first communion. We let our kids take communion when they first showed interest, so Teresa was 3. . Our church has 5th graders take first communion, so we have had the kids do a refresher course and celebrate again. Teresa had her 2nd first communion this weekend at our first in-person worship in over a year.
She was hoping to get real bread and try wine for the first time. Unfortunately do to covid, we are still using the individual communion cups. I promised we could do a 3rd first communion later at home...we have a pastor, bread and wine. So with my mom joining by facetime, we celebrated communion again with real bread and wine. Teresa was not impressed with the wine. I am pretty sure she will happily stick to grape juice!
On a side note, I have been working my way through some recipes from the 50 states that Teresa picked out in January. To celebrate her communion day, I made Kentucky Derby pie. But now it is communion day pie! Please notice the chalice filled with wine made from mini M & Ms!
