Easter weekend had some fun memories. On Friday morning we did some egg dying. I bought a new kit that was supposed to have dual colors. A couple of the eggs turned out really pretty, but the green was an olive color that reminded one of the 70's. Not so springy! It was fun and Timothy took to the green color and tried to use it on most of his eggs in some form!
Timothy is into trying not to smile, but I caught a couple smiles this weekend!
The completed eggs!
For Saturday morning breakfast, I made our favorite Bunny cinnamon rolls. Troy and I had been fasting during Holy Week (a Daniel fast--so eating healthy unprocessed food) so these were especially tasty!I did quite a bit of baking on Saturday afternoon. I signed up to bring treats for church, so I made cupcakes and mini caramel rolls. Teresa helped me frost the cupcakes and make the rolls. She also helped with this Easter Poke cake...swirling the cake batter to look so pretty.
On Saturday evening, we volunteered at St. Luke's downtown serving dinner to people in need. I dished up the coleslaw, the kids poured drinks and Troy handed out silverware. It was a good experience to help.
On Easter morning, I had to wake Timothy up to join us for breakfast at 9am! After that, the kids did there egg hunt. To find their baskets this year, Troy made them do a wordle type game. It was pretty challenging. I gave a few hints because I did not want to miss church because we were doing wordle for Easter baskets!
They eventually found them and were happy with their surprises!
At church we snapped a family picture. Troy played in the band and Timothy helped out by running the Zoom for the morning.
Later in the day we played some Easter minute to win it games. The games were fun until the competition got a bit much for some. That discouraged me, but I tried to bounce back. We relocated the fish and made way for Teresa's plant stand in her room. We took a quick walk and had a nice Easter dinner in the evening. We enjoyed our colorful cake for dessert. This picture shows a nice scowl (on purpose) from Timothy. He was smiling before and after the picture!
It was a nice day and we are thankful for all our blessings and the hope we have from Easter and the ressurection!
