We were blessed to get to see lots of family this summer. Troy's whole family was together for the first time in awhile. It was a full house, but worth it to see relatives we don't often see. The picture below has a good share of the crew, but a few are missing from the picture. Timothy and Teresa enjoyed with their San Diego cousins once again.
We were all dressed for the fourth of July in our red, white and blue. It was a beautiful day to see the parade and enjoy the activities in town.
The kids hauled in a bunch of candy and helped their cousins Vanessa and Vyrn collect lots of freezees!
A big highlight for Timothy and Teresa were the fireworks. Their cousins bought a handful to light off at home. Timothy and Teresa loved watching them and were delighted to try out some sparklers. And on the 4th, they got a front row seat to see the town's display. They loved it!
Timothy got to light off one firework himself. I think it was a spaceship or something. It spun around before fling into the air. He was quite proud.
And of course we had a birthday celebration for Teresa. We had pizza for dinner and she got to open a few gifts.
Her 8 candles were in a s'more cookie cake.
We were thankful for the time we had with Grandma Judy. She was feeling quite well and was able to enjoy all the company.
Our next stop was with my family. The kids attended day camp with their twin cousins which gave Troy and I a little free time. We managed a date at the restaurant where we had our first date. So sweet!
It was a hot week, but the kids had a blast at day camp and hanging out with cousins. The managed to pack in two sleepovers into the week. We may never catch up on sleep this summer!
A highlight of this stay, was the new ninja park. We got three visits in there. Timothy, Teresa, and even Troy and I enjoyed attempting the challenges the course offered.
We even took some of the cousins with on one visit. It was a bit hot and they were tired at the end of the week, so they took a rest on some of the equipment.
Another new find was the shop that sold hot dogs, french fries and ice cream. We just went for the ice cream. We are glad Grandma Rebecca keeps on top of these fun new things for us!!
Our last day was a full cousin day from morning to night! Cal and Henrik joined us for a good share of the day. Water baseball in the afternoon was a fun outside diversion to beat the heat.
After a long day that ended with a game of touch football with the kids and dads, we still managed to get smiles from most of the bunch.
It was a wonderful time to see all our family. We feel blessed!
