Easter

Happy Easter! Even with Covid 19, the day was similar to other years.  We had church online, but then we spent the day together.  We zoomed with family, which was more connection than the quick phone call we usually get.  It was a nice day.  Here are some pictures...
The family photo after church.  3 of us decided to dress up!
We had our egg hunt of course.  The kids got some candy and a couple of gifts.

This picture was actually from Maundy Thursday.  As part of our Sunday school and worship service we did some foot washing for each other.
Egg dying became one of the art activities of our school day.
We facetimed with Grandma so she could be a part of it.  She usually joined the other cousins for this each year, but not this year.  It was fun to have her watch the process and join in the conversation.
We managed to find some chalk which seems to be in about as high demand as toilet paper.  That was a gift from Grandma Rebecca.
Two not so great pictures from dinner.  We had sausage/brats with roasted veggies, fruit salad and lefse.  The best part was the Milk and Cookies cake.  Half chocolate, half vanilla to keep two kids happy!
A blessed day!

Staying positive and being creative!

With Covid-19 changing the way we live at the present, we have been home a lot lately and doing our own version of home school.  Here are a few pictures from our days of learning, staying active and having fun!
Play time is not outside or with friends right now...at least in mid March it was not.  So the basement is where we had some dodge ball, rollerblading and crazy fun!

School is differend activities on the computers, math, science, social studies, geography, Spanish, virtual tours...we try to be creative and the schools have given some great resources.

We also try to get outside during the day.  Scootering in the church parking lot is a lot of fun!  The creek has been a favorite lately too.
Teresa is doing creative play virtually.  She has a travel agency and is taking questions about travel.  She also is making bracelets for people.
An egg drop was part of our science learning.
And on Fridays I like to send selfies or pictures to family members to keep up connections and spread some joy.  This Friday it was Easter picture day!

Covid-19 is serious and trying for so many.  We are trying our best to keep spirits up and seek signs of hope.  There have been many bright spots in the past 4 weeks.

Aprils Fool's Day

I decided we needed to have a little extra fun for April Fool's since we would be home all day.  At breakfast, the kids found they had frozen cereal.  They picked up their spoons and it lifted the whole bowl.

Lunch had all their food items mixed up...sandwich in a can of tomatoes, apples in the Doritos bag, crackers in jello and pudding boxes and corn in applesauce containers.
Oh, and don't forget the jello in a cup with a straw!
I also stuffed newspaper in their shoes.  And our dessert was baked beans (caramel sauce and chocolate peanuts and fish-sticks (mini candy bar dipped in white coating and covered in graham cracker crumbs!  Simple ideas, but it brought a little extra fun to the day!
