A little multitasker?!

What you can't see in this picture is that Teresa is really watching Diego.  She almost always has a stack of books with her when she watches TV.  Apparently she reads during the boring parts of the show! 

I should not be surprised that she reads so much.  When she wakes up we have to gather her kitties, her water bottle and the two books from the previous night's story time before we can go upstairs.  And later in the morning, when we go back downstairs, we again gather what ever books are her current favorites.  We bring books to church.  We bring books in the car when picking up Timmy.  We bring books on our way to Bible study.  Last summer she even brought books outside while Timothy played in the sprinkler.  I guess Teresa likes books!!

Sleeping beauty

I love to check in on Timothy and Teresa when they are sleeping.  They are always so sweet and peaceful no matter what the day was like.  I don't often have the chance to take a picture.  This morning Teresa slept until 8:15 so it was plenty light in her room for photos.  I love how she is snuggling her favorite orange kitty!

Snow, snow and more snow

It is April 18th and it feels way too much like winter!  I am ready to put away sweaters and snow pants and hats and mittens.  But with a yard full of snow and temps in the 30s that just won't happen yet.  I long to pass the afternoons outside playing.  (We do get out some and have done lots of puddle splashing, but I want playgrounds and grass and bike riding!)  Instead we are back to playing at the mall playground and I even took the kids to the Burger King playland this afternoon just for something different.  The are always up for a smoothie for snack. 

Timothy's soccer was supposed to start 2 weeks ago and I am not sure enough snow will even be gone by next week.  The playground in our front yard (a toddler one) is still about half covered in snow.  We awoke to snow this morning and I think a bit more is yet to come this weekend.  I know spring can be slow in coming, but this is getting to be way too slow for my taste.  And Timothy is ready for summer too.  He has taken to wearing shorts whenever we are at home.  I just keep telling myself that it has to warm up eventually...right?!

"Tookies, anyone?"

We  played an after dinner game of Chutes and Ladders tonight.  Timothy likes to look at all  the chutes and see what causes you to slide down.  One of the pictures shoes a girl breaking the cookie jar.  He started talking about cookies, so of course Teresa did too.  When Teresa says it, however, it comes out 'tookies.'  So she said something like " you can't eat too many tookies."  That made Troy and I laugh especially because "tookies" sounds pretty much the same as when Teresa says turkey.  "Don't eat too many turkeys!"  How can you not laugh?  So Troy and I repeated Teresa using the word "tookie."  She of course says, "no not 'tookie'...'tookie.'" She can hear the difference between cookie and tookie, she just can't say it herself.  Being the good parents we are, (after a few more times of teasing) we stopped since we tell Timothy not to tease her when she is trying to say words.  Just say tookie a few times and see if you can keep from laughing!

Timothy has enjoyed hearing the funny things he said when he was little, so I decided I better document a few of Teresa's funny words too!
