Announcing #2 and Other Happy News!

First the announcement...August 3rd is the date we are looking forward to this summer. Yes, that is the day baby number two is supposed to arrive! I am about 15 1/2 weeks along and into the second trimester. So far the pregnancy has been good and the baby is doing well. The pictures below are from an ultrasound done at 13 weeks.

In other happy news.... I had a minor procedure done this past week in hopes of preventing some of the complications I had in my first pregnancy. The real hope is that this will help me to stay on my feet and avoid bed rest. The procedure was same day and I was done by 8am and home by noon. I have had no pain and little to no bleeding. These are both great blessings for us. I have had a few days to recuperate as Timothy is off keeping his Grandma busy!

The second bit of happy news is that Troy will be a published author sooner than later. He just got word that his dissertation is going to published by a more well know publishing company (well known in the academic world). He was hoping for this to happen, and pleasantly surprised at how quickly and smoothly the application process went. A small amount of work is required to prepare his work for publishing, but it is minor in comparison to all he has already done. This is a great accomplishment for him!

We are rejoicing this week in God's faithfulness and blessings!

Family vacation

Troy, Timothy and I made another trek to Brainerd, MN for some time with family this past week. We were joined by one of my brothers and his family, as well as my mom. This isn't exactly the tropical getaway that most people dream of in the winter. But it is a lot of quality time with family. Time to read, relax, play games, chat, and swim, swim, swim!!! With five adults and four children in a three bedroom condo, we don't have lots of space, but we make do and have lots of fun in the process.

The cousins reading with Grandma. A common fixture of the week.

Swimming with Daddy! (I think I posted a very similar picture a year ago!)

Playing in the snow. Our cool dude!
