We got to celebrate Troy for Father's Day.  VBS was cancelled at church, so we spent our morning down by the river walk.  That is one of Troy's favorite places.  And he stopped at Starbucks on the way to get drinks.  It was a beautiful day for a slow stroll along the river.  We took quite a few pictures and found a really big dead fish...which mostly interested Timothy!

Later after dinner, we went to the DQ for some tasty treats.  We sat at our favorite outdoor table to enjoy the ice cream.  I brought some sprinkles, because Troy likes sprinkles a lot.  I told the kids that they could learn the lesson from their dad that a few sprinkles always makes life a little better!
Our last stop of the day was the arboretum.  There was music going on, but we listened from afar.  We fed fish and battled Pokémon, and checked out the theme garden.  It was a great day!

Anniversary

Troy and I celebrated our anniversary last weekend.  We arranged sleepovers for our kids and a nice evening and morning together.  We went out to Park Farm for dinner.  It was a lovely night to eat outside and listen to live music.  The pizza and salad were tasty.  We also enjoyed a  walk along heritage trail for a bit.  We did go too far, as the shadiness had me a bit chilly.

The next morning we hope to go out to breakfast and then walk around the farmer's market.  Breakfast at Charlotte's was delicious--cinnamon rolls and a smoothie.  Unfortunately the rains came while we walked around the market.  Not so fun, so we bought some rhubarb and were on our way home.  Not quite what we had planned, but it was still fun to have a leisurely morning together.

I am thankful for Troy and our years together.  I couldn't ask for a better husband or friend.  I look forward to all the years ahead!

The Last Day!

We made it through another year!  Of the last three years, this one was pretty close to normal.  Teresa did wear a mask to start the year although it was not required.  Classes and schedules were back to normal.  No every other day, no homeschool!

Their clothing represents where they are headed. Timothy is supporting his new school as he leaves middle school behind.  Teresa enters her middle year as a Raptor.  They both had a good year with teachers that they really liked.  They have both met new friends.  They have both put in hard work to finish the year well.  We are so proud of them and their accomplishments! Congratulations on another year in the books!  Summer here we come!

We did not have a big celebration this year. The kids chose Freddy's for dinner.  The treat I made was a Crumble copycat recipe for Chocolate Mallow cookies--sort of like a Hostess cupcake in cookie form. Yum!  After dinner the kids both enjoyed some time with friends outside.  Timothy rode up to the park and Teresa joined neighbors to burn some school papers in a bonfire.  A good night, and a good way to end a good year!
