So we came to a big milestone yesterday...the end of elementary school. Timothy finished up his 5th grade year. Teresa completed third and now we have one middle schooler and one upper elementary kid. It is hard to believe!
Troy wanted to reenact the first day of kindergarten picture. We decided not to make Timothy where his Iowa shirt, although we do have it--Teresa's now. The boy has certainly grown in the past 6 years! And the girl is looking pretty good too. She was happy to go on the last day and do absolutely no learning stuff because as she said--"there's nothing in my desk!" And Teresa ended up with one of the 3 teachers she hoped for. She is excited about making volcanoes and her own yearbook in 4th grade.
And Timothy had fun doing the first ever fifth grade dance off. He got to start of his class in their dance. Fun times!
Later in the day, the 5th graders do a parade around the school hallways. The parents are invited to come and be apart of this. It was a fun time of celebration.
Timothy and his best buddy!
Before work, I was at home putting the finishing touches on the last day treat. Of course a new recipe...ice cream filled chocolate cupcakes! Yum!
They 6th grader and 4th grader were pretty happy with the treat!
To end the night, we went swimming at the pool and came home for Super Hero and Star Wars movie nights. A great ending to a great year!
