We took the risk and made our way to Disney World for the second time. There were times I was nervous, but after a successful trip, I am so glad that we went! We had to drive to O'Hare for a direct flight. Everything with our travel went well and was on time. People were masked and it felt pretty safe even on the full plane.
We once again stayed at Pop Century. This time our room was in the 80's and 90's section and we were on the second floor. We knew there would be a lot that is different with this trip, so a new location was not a bad place to start. The room was not far from the buses or the dining area and it was quite close to the Computer Pool. Of course the kids were happy to hit the pool each night even when the air temperature was chilly. The pool was heated to 85 degrees.
I thought the decor around this area was fun. The giant floppy disk to the Walkman to the words "Whatever" and "Psych." I did not go in the first night as I waited for our grocery delivery. I always worry about that! It did come and the driver found me. The order was mostly right except for a missing loaf of bread, different cereal and extra pears and peppers. I made it work!
Our first day we headed off to the Magic Kingdom and our first ride was Big Thunder Mountain. We were able to get right on with no wait. We also got on Haunted Mansion and Winnie the Pooh pretty quickly.
Teresa and I waited for the boys while they rode Space Mountain.
We stayed at the park until around 1pm and then headed back to the room for a little break. Around 3pm we went back to Magic Kingdom for a few more rides.
We arrived at the park and rushed to Tommorrowland to get a Frozen Lemonade before a restaurant closed. Only it turned out not to be the "real' frozen lemonade. Timothy was worried he would not get his favorite treat as we did not see many stands selling it. (Later we found it everywhere!) Notice the kids freezing as they drank their frozen lemonade. It was not cold, but it was not a super hot day either!
Our room was pretty much the same layout as before...which we liked. Below, Teresa and Timothy relax on the Mickey bed. The other bed, a Pluto bed, was folded up into a table during the day.
Our second day was at Epcot. This park did not open until 11am, so we got to sleep in a little bit. Although we did leave around 9:30 to catch the new skyliner to the park. The skyliner was a fun ride besides being our means of transportation. At Epcot we first went to Soarin' and got to ride it twice because of a glitch in the movie on part of the screen. Then we headed off to test track for a long wait. The time predicted 95 minutes but we waited just under an hour. It was a fun ride.
We had plenty of time to enjoy these wait here stickers while we inched our we through the line. I thought it was sort of like taking the picture of feet at Four Corners!
We found a secluded and sunny bench for some lunch. Out lunch pictures became about the only unmasked pictures we took.
We did a few of the space rides including Spaceship Earth. Then we went over to the country pavilions for the Frozen ride and the Mexican boat ride. Then it was time for snack.
Troy and I tried some churros for the first time and the kids got some 'real' frozen lemonade. They were not quite as frozen this time!
Our third day was at Hollywood Studios. We traveled by skyliner again and arrived early and got in quickly. We found our way back to Toystory land and went right to Slinky Dog Dash. We got right on and after the ride, made our way back for a second ride with no wait. The kids loved it, I was okay with no more roller coasters for awhile! We also did the Toy Story Mania ride before heading to the Satr Wars.
The Galaxy's Edge area was all new and pretty cool to experience. You feel like you are walking in a Star Wars world!
We went to the Smuggler's Run ride. Everyone liked the simulation ride. I chose to keep my eyes closed for most of the ride, so I can't say much of what happened. I was glad it ended. I felt that way about Star Tours too.
Timothy and Troy did the Tower of Terror and we all waited for Mickey's Runaway Railway. That was a bit of what, but it was a fun new ride. It was just enough movement and excitement for me! We ate lunch near where we did two years ago by the Rizzo rat Restaurant. Sadly the cute little Christmas shop nearby was not open.
After lunch, we hit another favorite, The Muppet Show. It is a 3d movie that is pretty funny, and Troy has instilled a love of the Muppets in our kids!
After the show, Troy was able to snag a boarding pass for the new and very popular Star Wars ride Rise of the Resistance. The afternoon sort of became this long process of waiting for the ride, which maybe we should have skipped. We did a few rides and shows, but ultimately kept waiting for our turn. Well, our group was finally called around 6pm. It took an hour to get to the ride, and we had yet to have dinner. This was the longest we had stayed at a park. The ride was very cool, but we were all tired and not at our best, so we did not all enjoy it as we might have in different circumstances.

We had pizza in our room for dinner and only Timothy had the energy to make a quick dip in the pool. A very long day, but still a very good one!
