It's a girl! Teresa Eliana Troftgruben arrived on Friday, July 30, weighing 7 lbs 6.7 oz. Thankfully, Maria is recovering very well, and Teresa already has much interest in her new world! Troy, meanwhile, is just plain happy.
We chose the name "Teresa" because it reflects a legacy of great women of faith (Mother Teresa, Teresa of Avila), and "Eliana" because it means "God answers [our prayers]," which reflects how Teresa herself is an answer to our many, many prayers. We are extremely thankful to God for her and for this wonderful day.
This parenting newborns is new all over again for us. So far, Teresa is a very good nurser, and healthy as any newborn can be. Thanks and praise be to God.
