Spring Break!

Spring break this year was spent  visiting family in the cities.  It was an awesome week of grandparents, cousins, parties, and fun activities.

The kids really enjoy Grandpa's new family room that had new video gaming chairs this visit.  They turned on some Pandora, pulled out the star wars toys and puppy toys and created a new game of puppy wars.  Even I don't mind the basement now with the new fireplace!  And on a side note, we were pretty happy to get to take the chairs home with us!  (Thanks Auntie Lisa!)
Despite being run down by a cold, attending Fiona's birthday party was a highlight.  It was a mermaid theme.  Teresa borrowed a mermaid tail from Fiona for the party.  They played games, did crafts, smiled and giggled a lot.  Timothy hung out with the boys during the party.
Another new experience of the week was going to a prayer event at Grandma Rebecca's church.  Teresa and I read scripture, wrote praises to God, practiced prayer poses, wrote prayers, built Lego prayers and simple prayed through out the hour long time slot.  Timothy did the same thing with his Grandma.  It was a beautiful experience for kids and adults.  And afterward, the kids liked the bonus time to play on the Noah's ark Grandpa Ken built for the church nursery!
Wednesday was cousin day (and really the beginning of cousin 3 days!)  The morning started with the arrival of the littlest cousin Cal.  We soon discovered his love of trains, books and hockey.  He was often hear saying "hockey time!"  That means someone better follow him and play some hockey!  The other 5 cousins were soon to come and after a bit of playtime and lunch it was school time.  Abby and Tate went off to a writing class.  Broder and Fiona did school with Grandma and Timothy and Teresa joined them.  They had some history, math and spelling.  I let Mattias do some school on my ipad.  Then it was more play and fun together.  We had a family dinner with the whole family and then I sent Timothy and Teresa off with Jeff and Lisa for their first sleepover!
Timothy and Teresa enjoyed playing at their cousins all afternoon.  When I picked them up to go to the trampoline park, we ended up taking two cousins with us and for another overnight at Grandma Rebecca's this time.  Then they got to play all day on Friday.  Like I said, lots of wonderful cousin time!
Eventually it was time to go home and that is always a little sad after a very fun week.  We snapped a few good bye pictures and Teresa took a few pictures to remember her time there.

And a bonus video of Teresa practicing her piano songs by memory!
