Weekend day Trip

It had been over a year since we have been able to visit my aunt.  With her permission we planned a day trip to WI with a stop to visit her before heading home.

We first went to the zoo.  It was a bit busy, but we had fun seeing the animals.  The animals were quite active.  We even got to hear the lion roar which was pretty amazing.  Timothy was more into Pokémon Go than the animals, but I understand he is growing up--the zoo looses a little appeal.  Teresa still loves the animals!

Our next stop was the arboretum.  In all our years visiting Aunt Mary, we have never stopped there.  We just went for a little walk and the kids found a natural kids area to climb on logs and rocks.  Some of the trees were blooming and beautiful.

Our next stop was Walmart to buy a video game that Timothy wanted, but was unavailable in Dubuque.  He even got it on sale.

We also stopped at the mall.  This was not the highlight of the trip.  There were not many stores of interest and the one store we went in, created some longing for something that the child did not have money for.  Needless to say it put a bit of a damper on the mood of the day.

Our last stop before we went o Aunt Mary's was Hurt's Donuts.  The have lots of fancy dessert like donuts to chose from.  I chose a slated caramel donut. Troy got a s'mores donut. Timothy picked a banana filled donut and Teresa chose dirt and worms.  We picked up one for Aunt Mary too.  I, of course, forgot to take any pictures of our fun treats, or our visit with Aunt Mary,

The afternoon had gotten a little rainy, but Aunt Mary kindly allowed us to visit indoors.  We stayed for about an hour and it was so nice to see her again!
